Twelve applicants have expressed interest in the market research about the introduction of a new electronic system of registration and sale of travel tickets in Riga

“Rīgas satiksme” informs that in the market research about the introduction of a new electronic system of registration and sale of travel tickets in Riga, 12 applicants have shown interest. Thus, with the market research, the first stage of purchase of a new electronic system of registration and sale of travel tickets in Riga has been completed. Four out of the mentioned applicants are companies registered in Latvia and eight are foreign companies. The company is currently reviewing the submitted materials, preparing answers to the questions. Whereas, at the beginning of next year, it is planned to announce an open procurement procedure for the introduction of a new electronic payment and service system in Riga.

At the moment, we are working on the collection of the results and preparing answers to the received questions. Whereas, at the beginning of next year, we plan to start the next stage - to announce an open and transparent procurement procedure for the introduction of a new electronic payment and service system in Riga. The applicants’ great interest in the market research gives us hope that there will be a lot of interest and fierce competition in the procurement procedure, which will allow us to receive a really good and economically advantageous offer.”

As previously reported, at the end of August this year, “Rīgas satiksme” announced market research about the introduction of a new electronic system of registration and sale of travel tickets in Riga. The objective of the market research is to find out the possibilities of technical solutions of potentially interested parties, the proposed deadlines for delivery and implementation, as well as other issues that could help to prepare the documentation for the procurement procedure. In order to reach the widest possible range of applicants, letters of invitation were also sent to internationally renowned companies that can offer equivalent systems for public transport. Anyone interested could submit their offers by October 22, 2021. Information on the mentioned market research was available on the website www.rigassatiksme.lv, in the section “Procurements and auctions” in the subsection - “Market research”.
